Caring For Your New Tattoo
-
Leave the tattoo wrapped as directed by your artist (usually 24 hours).
Gently remove the wrap and wash your hands first.
Clean the area with Dr Pickles Antibacterial Foam Wash, designed to cleanse without stinging.
Pat dry using a clean towel or paper towel — never rub.
-
Wash gently 2–3 times a day with Dr Pickles Antibacterial Foam Wash.
After each wash, apply a thin layer of Dr Pickles Tattoo Balm.
Use a clean towel every time to avoid contamination.
Watch for signs of irritation like redness, excessive heat, or discharge — these may signal infection and require professional advice.
-
Light scabbing is normal — it means the skin is repairing.
Continue washing gently and applying balm.
Avoid picking or scratching — it can pull out ink and cause scarring.
Stay out of direct sun, saunas, and swimming pools.
-
Even when healed, tattoos benefit from daily moisturising.
Use Dr Pickles Tattoo Balm regularly to keep skin soft and vibrant.
Protect your tattoo from the sun with SPF, avoid chlorine-heavy pools.
Dr Pickles Antibacterial Foam Wash can remain part of your daily hygiene routine.
